Discovery of Elements 113, 115, 117, 118

In the beginning of new year 2016, the chemistry communities were surprised by the announcement of IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry). This scientist organization announced four new elements: 113, 115, 117, 118. So, include the new-comers of the cell in periodic table, the seventh row of the table become complete.

The last four elements currently have names: Uut, Uus, Uup, and Uuo, like Indonesian people names (Uut Permatasari, Uus Suhendar, h he hm). These man-made elements will be permanently named, may be, in the next few months. As released by IUPAC, the discoverer of elements 115, 117, 118 were a collaboration team of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, USA.

So, the other element 113, its cell (temporary) name is Ununtrium, Uut, was made or discovered by a team in Riken Institute in Japan. Therefore, this element will be the first element named by Asian researchers. But, in the future, from this stepping stone on nuclear research, as said by Kosuke Morita, the leader of Riken, especially in this field of research, will be discovered elements 119 and beyond. If happened, of course, the periodic table will be changed drastically. We will see a new periode in 8 row. Is it possible? Perhaps ... ... ...?!

Finally, these new elements will become new homework for students in senior high school (SMA, MA, and SMK) and so need to be committed to memory them immediately.
